Dennis (Trey)

Trey is Assistant Vice President and Commercial Counsel focusing on complex commercial title risk analysis, policy structuring, and deal-specific underwriting for investment, development, and lender-driven transactions. He regularly advises on title and survey issues, endorsement coverage, leasehold and fee interests, and transactional risk mitigation across a wide range of commercial real estate assets.

Prior to moving into underwriting, Trey served as a claims attorney for Fidelity National Financial, where he managed a substantial portfolio of title, escrow, and lender-liability claims. That experience gives Trey a claims-informed underwriting perspective, allowing him to identify and assess risk proactively at the commitment and policy stage to prevent downstream coverage issues.

Relationships matter, consistency is key, and hard work produces results.

Trey serves on a special advisory team reporting to the Chief Legal Officer on AI-use regulation and compliance. He is a member of University of Louisville Law Review 61st Ed. Trey has a B.A. in Economics from Clemson University, and graduated magna cum laude from University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. He is a proud member/volunteer of the Church of Eleven22 in Jacksonville, Florida. Trey is from Charleston, South Carolina. He loves the Clemson Tigers, the Atlanta Braves, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. In his spare time, Trey enjoys reading, weightlifting, collecting sports cards, and volunteering for his church.
